EADS EFW starts second A300-600 freighter conversion for Rus Aviation
EADS EFW began to convert an Airbus A300-600 (MSN 643) from passenger to freighter configuration. This marks the second wide-body conversion performed for Sharjah based Rus Aviation following the already running conversion of MSN 626, which started in September 2010.To support its further business growth, Rus Aviation launched a multi-million dollar fleet rollover programme. These first two aircraft had been formerly operated by a US airline, and Rus Aviation is keen to add further converted freighters to its fleet, depending on the availability of respective airframes. We are pleased to continue our cooperation with Rus Aviation. Having chosen the popular A300 wide-body freighter to meet its growing airfreight demands, Rus Aviation will take full advantage of the converted Airbus freighters great potential, said Andreas Sperl, President and CEO of EADS EFW.As of today, EADS has delivered more than 160 converted freighter aircraft to 30 customers worldwide.
