The government of the republic of Iraq, Iraqi Airways and RUS aviation have signed a long term cooperation agreement. The contents of the understanding can be divided in two parts :Part one is the task to upgrade the Cargo Division of Iraqi Airways to International Standard, creating a future-oriented, competitive and efficient entity. This includes the introduction of IT tools, training, modernizing of facilities and providing management support.The second part of the agreements concerns the sourcing and provision of capacity, to enable the fledgling Carrier to obtain the market share due to the National carrier of Iraq. This not only refers to the acquisition of capacity and aircraft, but also includes the training of Flight and ground staff.The Services provided by RUS Aviation have been initially contracted for four years, with an option to extend to the mutual benefit of all parties.
